Trostrey Lodge garden is my Paradise. Come and share it at a Garden Party on Saturday, 16th June in aid of C P R W (Campaign for the Protection of Rural Wales). There will be interesting plants for sale, an artist in residence and cards, much music from pennywhistles to saxaphonists, garden tools, wild flower seeds, teas and cakes in the coach house and much more.
You can park your car in the field opposite the Regency house, walk by an iron gate over the ha ha, pass by a fine tulip tree and into a stone walled garden. There are vines, flowers, apple trees, myrtle, herbs, roses, box topiary and much more to please the eye – especially the ancient oak trees in surrounding fields making a sublime landscape.
We help support Bees for Develpment in Monmouth, the National Sweet Pea Society, Papillon Art group and Raglan Primary School who make the scrumptious teas. Also C P R W which works to protect the special landscapes of Wales at a time when it is under threat from housing and industrial development. It ensures rural skills are preserved and that life in rural Wales is sustainable. CPRW also works with schools in Monmouthshire to ensure that the younger generation appreciate and understand their unique environment.
Admission is £5 and children are free. 2 pm until 6 pm. Saturday, 16th June.
