Penallt Panto Returns

Returning in February to drive out the January blues with laughter and cheer, the Penallt Panto Players are staging their version of Cinderella, at Pelham Hall in the village of Penallt.

The Players made their debut last year to sell-out audiences with their performances of Aladdin. Enough money was raised to achieve a match-funded grant for a badly needed lift for the village hall. Now installed, the lift allows easy access for elderly and disabled members of the community to enjoy all the activities.

This year the Panto will again be raising funds for the Hall.

“You can expect all the usual silliness of a traditional Panto, with plenty of jokes and local references,” said Tom Rigby, the Panto’s Director. “We’ve a variety of colourful costumes, sets and props, some special effects and a great script. And lets not forget Lavertrina and Potterina, our two hilarious ugly sisters, who are determined to ruin Cinderella’s chances of meeting her prince.

“There will be a raffle each evening and interval refreshments in the upstairs bar, which is serviced by the new lift.

“The Panto went down such a storm last year that we’ve added an extra performance and we’re aiming to raise even more money this time. It will be a lot of fun for all ages, and I hope people will come along and support the show.”

Performances of Cinderella will take place on Thursday 13th and Friday 14th February at 7.30pm, with a matinee and evening shows on Saturday 15th at 2.00pm and 7.30pm.

Tickets are available at and cost £10 for adults, £5 for children under 16 and £20 for families (2 adults and 2 children). For groups of 11 or more the 11th ticket is free (11 adult seats £100 or 11 children seats £50).
