The Rotary Club of Ross-on-Wye is hosting the award winning Cantabile Girls Choir at their Charity Concert in Ross Parish Church.
The Choir were winners of the BBC Senior Schools choral competition in 2015. The choir of 17 girls who are all students at Hereford Cathedral School and have sung the a numbers of professional performers. They sang with Aled Jones in Hereford Cathedral earlier this year. In a few weeks time they are travelling to Spain to take part in a major International Competition. They will be singing a number of the pieces in their programme on October 6th which they will be performing in Spain.
The Rotary Club in Ross is keen to support young people in a number of ways. Each year they send a candidate to the week long Rotary Youth Leadership course. This programme enables candidates learn all about leadership in very practical ways. Those taking part finish the course with their self esteem transformed and able to relate, with others, to achieve goals greatly enhanced. Each year they also help promote young people in the workplace by providing a Bursary for the best apprentice living or working in the HR9 postcode. They are nominated by Hereford Group Training. The club also supports a number of other local charities such Hope, Megan Baker & the Tudorville community project.

The club is proud of the work of the World wide Rotary organisation supported by the United Nations & the Gates Foundation which has almost eradicated Polio from this world. Two small pockets remain in Afghanistan & Pakistan which it is hoped will happen within the next two years.
