There is a brand new Incredible Edible garden sited within the old Usk Agriculture College and it is well worth a visit. The garden adjoins Gwent Bee Keepers apiary and a more formal pollinator garden all of this came about through the Welsh Government Nature Fund and the purpose is to protect provide habitats to encourage pollinators.
What is an Incredible Edible garden? It’s a community run garden following the ideas of the Incredible Edible movement galvanising local people to come together to meet and talk, to improve their community through the growing of food and perhaps to start looking at how they can support local businesses and start teaching others about the joys of food.
In Usk we have 9 raised beds, a greenhouse and plenty of other space to grow food, we are a group of people who would love others to join us. We are all at different levels of expertise but our enthusiasm and love of the garden is shared equally, come and have a look it really is lovely. If you are interested in either the growing of food or tending the formal garden area or just want to see the garden please get in touch with firstname.lastname@example.org or 01633 64 4844.
